• We are also uniquely positioned as highly experienced Trail Builders to review designs
  created by others for value engineering and other considerations prior to beginning
  projects.
• We create unique opportunities through our trail creations and trail building to enjoy your
  private or public natural environments.
• Consideration for ADA (Americans with Disabilities) , the elderly and others is taken
  into account to unleash new access to our natural world otherwise blocked. Natural
  spaces once difficult to access can be upgraded to accommodate those otherwise
  excluded.

Trail Mapping:

• Many times agencies and private individuals have a project in mind but have not mapped
  out the best route for their proposed project with accessibility, slope constraints, existing
  terrain obstacles, and related overall cost in mind. Even if your project must be
  competitively bid per your agency requirements; our firm can map out your project for
  you during the pre-planning, grant seeking, and budgeting stages on a simple fee basis
  where we can upgrade your guesstimates into something more tangible.

Trail Enhancement:

• Existing and new trails can be enhanced thru paving for easier accessibility. Our custom
  built Jerry Morrison Trail Paver Machine has the following unique capabilities:
  • Paves trails 4 to 8 feet wide—track width 4 feet
  • Heated screed
  • Rubber tracks can pave adverse grades and makes tight radius curves
  • Low impact — environmentally sensitive
  • Spreads asphalt or gravel depending on your desired trail design
  • Extruded curbing also available (straight or curved)
• Many trails are partially accessible by handicapped and elderly, but the trailheads are not.
  Using Adaptive Trail principles our firm can take your design or ours to enhance your
  trailheads and improve sections of your trails that need a bit of work to function properly
  with your improved accessibility and efficiency goals in mind.
• Improving existing trails:
  • We can assist you with improving your hiking trails to accommodate bikes and
    your maintenance equipment.
  • Trails too narrow for passage of bikes or maintenance ATV’s can be improved
    with pullouts, trail widening, smoothing trails, crushed granite or asphalt paving.
  • Nature Bound has completed projects cutting trails into the face of cliffs with
    explosives and narrow-gauge excavation equipment. Our expertise can make the
    improbable possible

Trail Bridges:

• Many trails are beautiful and noteworthy of the views and experiences but fall short when
  accessibility becomes an issue over creeks, gullys, washes & other obstructive terrain.
  • Nature Bound Construction is an active licensed blaster and can blast stubborn
    areas with well placed charges to remove stubborn rock and other obstructions
    from a trail enhancing safety, improving grade slopes, etc. while being
    environmentally sound.
  • Nature Bound Construction has years of experience in fabricating bridges and
    bridge abutments over difficult terrain and also in installing prefabricated bridges
    built by others.
  • Specialty bridges such as swinging bridges, suspension, log bridges and other
    amazing bridges have been built and could solve your unique problem.

Retaining Walls

• We have built numerous natural stone and concrete retaining walls designed to protect
  homes from steep slope erosion, trails from collapse and uphill landslides.

Trail Maintenance:

• Once a trail has been built maintenance is a necessary part ofkeeping trails open – both
  public & private. Nature Bound Construction maintains trails for Customers and has done
  so for many years with the following types of maintenance work:
  • Trail Brush Clearing — typically trails become blocked each year with deadfall
    and other wind damage.
  • Trail Boulder and landslide damage
  • Fire Hazard Zones — can be enhanced by clearing flammable deadfall, brush, and
    other overgrowth from trails. Depending on the season and hazard ratings our
    crews can either maintain your trails with mechanized or hand tool methods.
  • Trail Bridge Maintenance and repair— bridges deteriorate and should be reviewed
    annually & after Storm events
  • Restoring old trails — neglected old trails become impassible but can be re-opened
    for improved accessibility with proper maintenance
